The Ambassador of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques in Cairo, Ambassador Osama Naqli, has confirmed that the Kingdom will extend visa and residency validity to Egyptians working in the Kingdom who are currently in Egypt.
This happened during Ambassador Naqli’s meeting with Egyptian Immigration and Foreign Affairs Minister Nabila Makram to discuss the crisis of Egyptian workers stranded in Egypt in light of the suspension air traffic.
The Egyptian cabinet said in a statement today (Wednesday) that the Egyptian Immigration Minister has contacted Ambassador Naqli, after receiving numerous calls and assistance from Egyptians working in the Kingdom and currently in Egypt, in this regard.
The Minister of Immigration thanked the Ambassador of the Kingdom and the Saudi authorities and officials for rendering a decision on the extension of visas and residence permits to facilitate Egyptian work, stressing respect for the sovereignty of the Kingdom and its decisions in light of the precautionary measures it is taking to deal with the spread of the Corona pandemic.
The ministry called on Egyptian citizens not to be guided by rumors regarding the announcement of the date of return of air traffic to Saudi Arabia, and to wait for an official announcement of it from the Kingdom.
