Ziyad al-Juhani, the meteorological expert, predicted the continued activity of humid southern winds over parts of the kingdom on Monday, with increased rainfall.
Al-Jahani said the wind would suffer in parts of the northeast of the kingdom, south of Qassim, Riyadh, Sharqiya and Mecca, adding that the situation would continue until Tuesday.
He pointed out that the situation is due to the approach of the extreme cold mass that has caused the wind excitation and the formation of heavy rains, indicating that the peak of the situation will concern the extreme northeast of the kingdom towards Hafr al-Batin, Riyadh and the eastern region.
He said that a significant drop in temperature is expected from Tuesday to the end of the week to reach about 6 degrees at the northern border and the enclave and parts of Tabuk and Hail, and about 14 degrees on Qassim and Riyadh and north-east of the kingdom towards Hafr al-Batin and Medina.
Al-Juhani pointed out that the region was still in the period of "Bayaa Al-Khbel Aba" at which a significant drop in temperature is expected during the current week and the next, after which the region will receive rainfall until the end of the month of April.
