A member of the Academic Council and member of the Standing Fatwa Committee, Sheikh Dr Abd al-Salam al-Suleiman, clarified the decision on collecting and shortening prayers at Riyadh airport.
Al-Sulaiman said that many questions are received about this, as well as about the decision of the person at Riyadh airport, whether inside the country or outside, stressing that the correct answer received from the Standing Committee is that it is outside the country.
And he mentioned that the traveler at Riyadh airport has the right to shorten and combine the prayer, pointing out that if he performs both short and plural and then misses the flight, his prayers are valid, and whoever arrives at the airport if he arrives at the time of prayer has the right to perform both short and plural.
