The emirate of Asir announced Tuesday that air traffic at Abha airport would be suspended for nine hours tomorrow.
The suspension of air traffic will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 and until 3 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
She explained that the reason for the suspension is that the authority of civil aviation will begin to operate the temporary runway of the airport to replace the main runway under development and will continue training work 60 days from Thursday, March 28, 2019.
The emirate confirmed that the action was aimed at developing the airport and preparing it to accommodate large and jumbo aircraft in order to increase the number of passengers and the number of flights.
