The guardian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman Ben Abdulaziz, issued a royal decree on Saturday appointing Abdulrahman al-Harbi governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade.
Ahmed Al-Harbi holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He teaches many advanced courses in leadership and management.
He has diverse management and operational experience in the areas of trade, foreign investment, finance and banking. He has been Undersecretary of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment since 2016.
Abdulrahman Al Harbi has held several management positions in the financial and private banking sectors, including as Managing Director of Emirates NBD.
He is currently a member of several local and international boards and committees, including the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority and the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises.
He also represented the Kingdom on the Board of Directors of the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT) and was a member of the board of directors of the Electricity Regulatory Authority and dual production and the sponsorship program's board of directors.
