Citizen Muhammad Bilal Khotani was able to build an airplane inside his home in Jeddah, in order to share his son’s dream of becoming a pilot.
He explained when he met on the “Yahla” show on Gulf Rotana that the story began with his son revealing his desire to become a pilot, which prompted the father to seek and read in order to come up with a formula that would allow it to build an aircraft with the available capacities.
He added that it had taken a long time to design the aircraft, due to the lack of the necessary capabilities, noting that he had difficulty in supplying some materials such as engine materials, fabric, wing, insulating materials, paints, etc., to import them from abroad.
He went through the stages of building the aircraft, starting with the implementation of the design and connecting its parts, and then starting to manufacture the electrical parts of the aircraft, such as the steering, the engine, speedometers, brakes, struts and others.
Khotani sent a message of support to the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stressing that Vision 2030 always pushes people to learn, diligently and innovate, then show their abilities and capabilities.
