The tribunalA citizen filed a complaint with the Sharia Health Committee in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region against a private hospital in Jeddah, after his child suffered from cerebral palsy, resulting in suspension of all parties ; As a result of a medical error.

Citizen Thamer Shaheen and his wife requested, according to Okaz, financial compensation estimated at 100 million riyals to cover the costs of their child’s treatment and his permanent and continuous rehabilitation for the next 40 years, and they indicated that the minimum for his monthly salary is 100,000 riyals.

The citizen also demanded to punish the doctors and health practitioners who injured his child and to prevent them from performing a job, while explaining their error in the dismissal service, within the maximum limits provided by law.

He pointed out that he and his wife worked for 3 years without vacation or rest to reconcile work and family, take care of the child and follow his treatment, which during this period cost more than one million riyals. Noting that Insurance does not cover all required health needs, especially orthopedists, dentists and neurologists.
