A consultant and professor of cardiology and arterial catheterization, Dr Khaled Al-Nimr, explained the bad effect of sadness on heart health, noting that it harms the heart a lot.
Al-Nimr said that sadness increases blood pressure and heart rate, increases the concentration of factors causing blood to clot, and reduces diet and sleep.
He added that one of the bad effects of bereavement is that the grieving person is not interested in taking medication and all of these factors increase the incidence of stroke.
