The automaker General Motors has announced the introduction of changes to its logo (Logo), at the start of an overall image change process, aimed at highlighting its efforts in the field of electric cars.
The group said in a statement, according to “Agence France-Presse”, that the new visual symbol “stems from an old heritage, but includes a more modern and dynamic touch added to the traditional blue square of General Motors”.
The blue tint, now used in the letters “G” and “M”, symbolizes the blue sky, expressing the ambition for a future without polluting emissions. The new shape of the letter “M” symbolizes the electrical outlet (socket).
“For the first time, we have the solutions, the capacity, the technology and the size enough for anyone to use an electric car,” said General Motors Marketing Director Deborah Wahl.
General Motors recently stepped up its efforts in electric and self-driving cars, promising to invest $ 27 billion before 2025.
The group plans to launch 30 new electric car models by the end of 2025, with models from each of the group’s four brands: Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet and Buick.
