The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced monitoring violations regarding prepared meals provided to pilgrims, providing meals that do not meet the requirements stipulated in their preparation and presentation.
The ministry explained that the violations included the use of some companies to contract with suppliers of substandard meal service to contractual requirements in accordance with high quality standards and specifications.
And she stressed that the prescribed sanctions will be imposed, after completing the necessary investigative procedures in this regard against companies and institutions regarding the violations that have taken place.
She noted that coordination was being coordinated with the Secretariat of the Holy City and the General Food and Drugs Authority to intensify its inspection tours of catering contractors and prepared meals suppliers, with the application of maximum penalties in violation case.
She pointed out that consideration is being given to reassessing the conditions of the offending companies and institutions in light of the level of their services and the extent of their ability to correct their conditions, including the cancellation of their permits, in order to to ensure increased efficiency of companies and the quality of their performance and the provision of services to which they are committed.
She underlined that this is part of the respect by the establishments of the regulatory and health requirements which must be respected in order to preserve the health and safety of the pilgrims, without compromising the provisions and instructions aimed at comforting them and facilitating their benefit.
