The Ministry of Health’s deputy assistant secretary for preventive health, Dr Abdullah Al-Asiri, warned against complacency with precautionary measures, calling for a continued commitment to take precautions until the community reaches a safe shore.
Asiri explained that vaccines at the present stage protect individuals from infection and prevent serious illnesses in them, but they will not prevent the spread of infection to the rest of society.
He stressed that breaking stone by someone infected with the virus or having come in contact with an infected case and mingling with people is a great sin and a heinous offense, and no one is excused for the ignorance, adding: “You don’t carry the burden of spreading the infection, because you don’t know how far it is and how many souls may be lost.”
