The Health Ministry has renewed the warning against taking too much “aspirin” before getting a prescription.
The ministry stressed that the drugs are prescribed, while respecting the instructions for use in order to avoid complications.
She noted that it is used as a prophylaxis for patients who have had a stroke or heart attack to prevent recurrence, as well as for patients who have risk factors for stroke or heart attack.
She said there are several recommendations for its use, including taking it with food to prevent upset stomach and heartburn, and sticking to it as directed by the doctor.
