In a letter sent last night (Friday) to the UN Security Council, the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Mouallimi, stressed that the Kingdom was taking all the necessary measures to preserve its lands. and preserve the security of its citizens. and residents in accordance with its obligations under international law.

Al-Mouallimi said that on instructions from the Kingdom’s leaders, he is writing again about the continued terrorist attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia against Saudi Arabia.

He added that one of the recent examples of such terrorist acts is the attempted attack on Abha International Airport with a trapped drone that was intercepted, injuring 4 airport workers and damaging some windows.

He said that the continued absence of sufficient and strict measures by the international community, in particular the Security Council, towards these militias sends the wrong message to the Houthis to continue to destabilize regional security and international peace.

On behalf of the Kingdom, he called on the Security Council to shoulder its responsibility to the Houthi militias to end their threats to international peace and security and to hold them accountable, calling for the letter to be circulated as official document of the Security Council. .
