According to ZDNet, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 as of January 14, 2020 – a year later, which means no additional updates or security patches for the OS.
Microsoft continues to provide security updates for Windows 7 to enterprise customers who pay for support, but not individual users.
Windows 7 came out in 2009 and remains one of the most used operating systems, but Windows 10 ultimately outperformed Windows 7 in the desktop market at the end of last year.
