The mosque of the Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, in Domat al-Jandal, in Al-Jouf, one of the most important and ancient mosques of the Kingdom, the perfumed Islamic history.
The history of its construction dates back to the 16th of the Hegira, during the passage of Umar ibn al-Khattab, from the Umayyads al-Jandal, to Jerusalem, where he ordered its construction.
It is located in the center of the old city, next to the shield, and is famous for its minaret of about 12.7 meters high consisting of: (qibla gallery – mihrab – pulpit – chapel – the place of prayer in winter, called "retirement").
