The French club Paris Saint-Germain said Wednesday that Brazilian star Neymar may be absent for about 10 weeks after his right foot injury has worsened.

The club explained that a number of "world-renowned medical experts" met on Tuesday to discuss Neymar's foot injury case.

The most expensive player in the world was injured Wednesday in the 2-4 win over Paris between St Germain and Strasbourg.

The club said the experts had proposed a "preventive treatment" of the injury, which Neymar agreed. "So we expect Neymar to return to court in 10 weeks," the club said.
