A psychologist estimated that 50% of the Saudi population had to go to psychiatric clinics, confirming that it was the findings of a local study conducted in a specialized center.
He pointed out that the American Psychological Association's study had revealed that 70% of depression victims were suffering from depression without feeling it, stressing that doctors in hospitals and health centers were neglecting the transfer of patients into psychiatric clinics.
He pointed out that depression is the most common psychological illness in Saudi Arabia, after panic disorder and anxiety, and that its prevalence among women is double that of men.
