Sheikh Al-Khathlan clarifies decision to interrupt prayer in response to parents' call Professor of Islamic Law at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr Saad Al-Khathlan, explained the decision to interrupt prayer in order to answer the parents’ call.

Al-Khathlan said that children are not allowed to interrupt the obligatory prayer in order to answer the parents’ call, but it is permissible to alert them by glorification or the throat, indicating that it is allowed children to reduce obligatory prayer to answer the call of parents, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to reduce the prayer when he heard the boy crying.

He added that if the son knows that his parents will excuse him for not being in a voluntary prayer, he does not interrupt him, but swims or bows, but if the parents do not excuse him, he interrupts the prayer and answer it.
