The East Coast Festival, in its seventh edition, which begins Tuesday, is reviving the traditional craftsmanship of wood, become famous in the east of the country after a break of nearly 50 years.

Nasser Al-Duhaim, an experienced shipowner, explained that the manufacture of wooden boats is one of the most important and important handicrafts that use special types of tools, wood and nails to prepare the ship for navigation.
He added that the types of ships vary according to their use, some of which are used in the "Dasha" for diving and pearl mining, including what is made in the Gulf, like Jalabut albums , Baghla and Bakkara, and the "glue", a wooden boat used for the search for oysters and the transport of passengers.
The wood used in the shipbuilding industry includes teak, bamboo, bamboo and modern fiberglass industries, highlighting the difficulty of craft work, the long life of the large shipbuilding industry and the number of workers required to carry out this task.
