Shura member Hazza Al-Qahtani highlighted the importance for the Ministry of Economy and Planning to raise its performance to the desired and reasonable level, while member Dr Aisha Zakry said The ministry’s report did not include strategic objectives for the comparative advantage of the regions, noting that the work of preparing development plans in all sectors will contribute to achieving the ministry’s objectives.

Requests

While several members, including engineer Nabih Al-Brahim, asked the ministry to study full and detailed facts and figures of the economic and social implications, on the impact of imposing financial compensation on companions regardless of the issue of excess employment, to know the reality of what it is.

Dr Hassan Al Maslum called on the Ministry of Economy and Planning to accelerate the preparation of a national sustainable development strategy that includes the science, technology and innovation aspect, and the development of indicators with the competent authorities .

Proposals

Member, Ms. Aisha Areishi, suggested that the ministry prepare a development plan that aims to involve the non-profit sector as it is a developing producer and not a consumer.

The member, Saad Al-Otaibi, stressed the importance for the ministry to provide specialized studies on potential economic risks, develop plans to deal with them, reduce their effects and put in place the necessary mechanisms to ensure the availability of information and make it available to various parties so that they can invest their results in the preparation of plans and programs aimed at sustainable development.
