The oldest carpenter and owner of the oldest carpentry workshop in historic Jeddah, carpenter Muhammad Zakir, died yesterday (Wednesday).
Zakir, who lived near the Abu Anaba Mosque in the historic district, according to “Sabq”, is one of the pioneers of the mayor’s center, who visited him after finishing his work in the morning.
The carpenter Zakir was born in the alley “Al-Mazloum”, in which he began to work as a carpenter until he founded his own workshop, before making it a meeting place for old friends and the first carpenters in the region.
