The Red Sea Film Festival will focus on welcoming Saudi talent, new Arab works and new cinematic styles in international cinema.
The festival is a key objective to nurture the emerging movement of local cinema and restore it after decades of stopping by increasing the annual production of Saudi films, boosting the distribution market and local performances. The festival aims to provide the film industry with a solid foundation that enhances the vitality of society and the diversification of the economy in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's vision at the horizon. 2030.
The Red Sea Film Factory is an incubator of local film projects that runs throughout the year in accordance with the residency and livelihood programs of directors and producers, to rehabilitate their modern film projects by sponsoring at all stages development, financing, production and distribution in accordance with the highest international standards.
The Red Sea Film Festival is a non-profit initiative of the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation, a modern institution that has been registered in accordance with Saudi regulations as one of the actors supporting the local film industry by enriching local film content and expanding the industry to international horizons. The Minister of Culture is led by the Foundation's board of directors, while director and producer Mahmoud Sabbagh is the managing director.
