Depositary of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz presided over the ceremony of the King Faisal International Prize at the 41st session of the year.
Upon his arrival at the Grand Prince Sultan Hall of the Al Faisaliah Hotel, he was received by Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Mecca, by King Faisal International Charitable Foundation and by Prince Turki Al Faisal , chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies.
The depositary of the two holy mosques, professor Jean Fréchette, former vice-president for research, innovation and economic development of KAUST, has crowned the King Faisal's prize in chemistry.
Dr. Mahmoud Fahmy Hijazi, from the Arabic Language and Literature Branch, and Dr. Abdul Ali Al-Wadhiri are among the winners of this year's award.
