Today, Saturday, the director of public health of the Gulf Health Council, Dr Ahmed Al-Ammar, clarified some questions regarding the possibility of giving a third booster dose of the Corona vaccine.
He explained, during his meeting with the “mbc in a week” program, that so far the US Food and Drug Administration or other approved centers have not issued approval for the possibility of giving a third dose of vaccine, although it is not. believed it could harm recipients.
He added that the World Health Organization considers it better to settle for two doses and give an opportunity to countries facing vaccine shortages, which helps achieve global societal immunity.
Regarding the issue of vaccine mixing that has been raised recently, Al-Ammar said that this issue arose after some countries faced a shortage of stocks of specific types of vaccines, which necessitated the realization studies to determine the safety of the vaccine mixture.
The public health doctor said these studies prove the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine mixture, noting that a number of countries have adopted it, such as Britain, Canada, the Kingdom and Sweden.
