The General Authority of Investments of Saudi Arabia (SAGIA) has doubled the number of foreign investment licenses in the Kingdom, noting that 291 licenses were issued in the second quarter of 2019, at the rate of five licenses per day.
The number of licenses issued in all targeted sectors has more than doubled compared to the same period last year and increased by 103% compared to the first quarter of 2019.
She indicated that the construction sector had registered 61 licenses, as well as other sectors such as the communications and information technology sector (51 licenses) and the manufacturing sector (45), as well as other sectors such as professional, scientific and technical services, retail and wholesale trade, administrative services, accommodation and food services. .
The Commission pointed out that British companies were at the top of the list with 45 licenses, followed by Indian companies with 29 licenses and US licenses with 23 licenses, and the Kingdom had seen a large number of Arab companies invest in them, the second quarter being marked by issuing several licenses to companies from Egypt, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the attention of Chinese companies.
