The chairman of the National Council of Human Rights, Mohamed Fayek, was one of the founders of the human rights movement in Iraq and the Arab world, Adib al-Jader, died Saturday in Geneva, Switzerland.

Fayek confirmed that with the departure of the deceased, the Arab homeland was one of the pillars of human rights and nation contributing decisively to the service of Iraq, Arabism, humanity and human rights over the past six decades, on various professional and political sites.

Adib Al-Jader was born in Mosul in 1927. After graduate studies in Istanbul and the United States, he worked in the oil sector as director and then president of the National Oil Company. In 1961, he was elected Iraqi engineer.

In 1964, he was a member of the co-presidency of Iraq and Egypt, became Minister of Industry (1964-1965), and then Minister of Economy in 1967.
