Riyadh: Police arrested six Bangladeshi people who arrested an Indian resident and demanded ransom, said his spokesman.
He explained that the six culprits had extorted families from the Indian expatriate in his country and demanded a ransom of 70,000 riyals for his release after arresting him in a furnished apartment in the district. Al-Arid, north of Riyadh.
He added that the relevant police authorities had initiated the communication and were able to locate the detainee, release him and arrest him.
The six Bangladeshi defendants, aged between three and four decades, were arrested and legal action was taken against them.
