News Royal Order to Transform the Riyadh Development Authority into a Royal Body Led by the Deputy Prime Minister

The guardian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman Ben Abdulaziz, issued Friday a royal order aimed at transforming the Riyadh Development Authority into a royal commission dubbed "Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh".

The Royal Decree stipulated that the Authority would have a board of directors chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and that its members would be appointed by order of the Prime Minister.

The Royal Decree stipulates that all tasks related to major national projects in Riyadh are transferred from the National Major Projects Committee to the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh.

It also stipulated that the Council of Ministers 'Council of Experts, in coordination with the Royal Commission on the City of Riyadh and all interested parties, should prepare in no more than three months' time to prepare the necessary procedures for the meeting. completion of the necessary formalities.

The Royal Order confirmed that this step was aimed at modernizing the city of Riyadh in all areas corresponding to its position as the capital of the Kingdom and replacing it with the special status that we wish.

The Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh is composed of the following members: Prince of the Riyadh Region, Minister of the Interior, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Minister of Commerce and of Investment, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, President of the National Water Company and Minister of Water Finance. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Economy and Planning, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Engineer Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, secretary of the Riyadh region and chairman of the board of the Saudi Electricity Corporation.
