A photoCAIRO (Reuters) – Egyptian customs authorities at Cairo International Airport foiled an attempt by a Saudi passenger to smuggle hundreds of boxes of drugs in violation of Egyptian laws after hiding them in bottles of water to Zamzam.

Egyptian newspapers have quoted airport officials who allegedly suspected a Saudi passenger of having completed the inspection of passengers arriving by a flight from Jeddah airport. The passenger was hesitant and was carrying a large number of Zamzam paper water bottles.

When asked if he was in possession of property worthy of paying taxes and fees, he replied in the negative.

The head of the Central Customs Customs Passenger at Cairo Airport has decided to take the necessary legal action against the Saudi passenger, to release a customs evasion record and to enter seizures.
