This was revealed by a survey of specialized agricultural projects conducted by the General Statistical Authority at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018, a field survey in which data are collected by visiting all farms (cows , fish farming, broilers, ostriches, rabbits, pigeons, quails, layers and incubators) in different parts of the Kingdom. , To obtain capacity data for these farms in 2017.

The number of specialized fish ponds (2,508), with an area of ​​8.84 million cubic meters, producing 61,000 tons of fish and shrimp, of which 71.7% for shrimp.

The survey showed that the capacity of broiler flocks reached 135.2 million birds. Total production of ostrich, rabbit, pigeon and quail meat on specialized farms (2,849 tonnes) in 2017.

The total capacity of specialized spawning farms was 45.54 million birds, the total number of broiler hatching eggs used in specialized fish farms was 224, 17 million eggs and the number of broiler chicks produced in the fish farms amounted to 222.44 million birds.
