This year, 50 prisoners and their relatives from three different regions of the Kingdom of Riyadh, Mecca and Al-Baha – practiced Hajj as part of the "Thiqa" program to rehabilitate the prisoner before reintegrating into society.
A video documented by Faisal al-Abdulkarim shows the housing for the prisoners' campaign, which does not differ from those of the remaining pilgrimage sites;
One of the prisoners expressed his great joy to perform the Hajj, stressing that he feels very comforted psychologically, after successfully completing the rituals of Hajj, thanking all those who contributed to his participation in the prisoners' campaign.
We hear about luxury prisons in some countries, but today, it is one of the strangest reports and I cherish it personally.
I visited the first prison department campaign to mobilize 50 Thiqa beneficiaries from detainees and their families.
No guards, no guards, they go out and walk comfortably, some simple guarantees and the experience is successful and impressive.
