Dr. Mohammed Massoud, Executive Director of the Food Security Information Center, revealed the benefits of eating green beans, stressing that it contains the necessary elements for the human body.

Green beans contain carbohydrates, which give the body the energy it needs to perform many biological processes, the protein responsible for building tissues, muscles and cells, as well as stimulating the secretion of enzymes.

He added that it also contained vitamins and minerals necessary for enhancing immunity and preventing disease, as well as fibers that improve the functioning of the digestive system and bowel movements.

He pointed out that eating green beans did not increase weight, provided you did not eat too much bread, explaining that eating green beans without cooking could lead to constipation.

He pointed out that the proper way to prepare it is to boil it in water, then add lemon oil to remove the harmful fibers.

He also revealed that green beans do not purify the stomach, but cause excessive ingestion of swelling, because of the difficulty legumes have in digesting.

Masood cautioned against eating green beans before bedtime or late at night to avoid feeling bowel disorders, as well as their excessive ingestion causing ruptured red blood cells.
