The planet Venus, a symbol of love and beauty, is observed in the skies of the Arab world before sunrise throughout the month of December, as it is easily seen towards the eastern horizon with the naked eye as a shining gem in the sky.
And Venus went from the evening sky to the dawn sky on June 3, 2020, in a phenomenon called internal conjunction, and it happens once every (584 days), and after that it reached July 10, 2020 for its peak brightness in the dawn sky, in what is called (greatest amount of illumination)), (4.7-) because it was 30 times brighter than Sirius.
This was followed by the arrival of Venus at its maximum aspect ratio relative to the sun in the sky from dawn to mid-August, and the planet will remain bright as the morning “star” for the remainder of this year. , and for a few months in 2021.
According to the Jeddah Astronomical Society, throughout the month of December, Venus in its faster orbit around the sun will move away from Earth, and we notice by observing through the telescope that the illumination of the planet’s disk has increased, which corresponds to a decrease in the size of its apparent disc, as it will be an illuminated pinch of 89% in early December, and 94% by the end of the month, its diameter will have decreased to about 91% of its size initial at the end of December.
It is worth noting that in ancient times Venus was called (Hesperus), when it was seen in the evening sky and (Vesporus) when it was seen in the dawn sky, and it is not known if they knew they were one body.
