Saudi Arabia’s health ministry announced on Friday the adoption of the “Moderna” vaccine for vaccination against the Corona virus, bringing the number of vaccines approved in the Kingdom to 4 vaccines.

The ministry said the “Moderna” vaccine is taken in two doses by injection in the upper arm, and that the first and second doses are separated by 42 days.

She confirmed that it is effective in preventing and protecting against the emerging corona virus.

The Food and Drug Authority of Saudi Arabia had agreed to register the vaccine “Moderna”, after submitting an application for registration with the manufacturer, so that the health authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia could then import and use the vaccine. .

Saudi Health has also urged everyone to register for the “My Health” app to receive the vaccine for free, as part of the Kingdom’s measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

She explained that the vaccines approved by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health are only 4, namely “AstraZeneca”, “Pfizer” and “Johnson & Johnson”, in addition to the vaccine “Moderna”, indicating that if another vaccine is approved, it will be announced at that time through the official approved channels.

And she indicated that the Corona, AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines are currently delivered through the vaccination centers available in the Sehaty app, while the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines are currently approved by the Department of Health for restaurants in. outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

She pointed out that taking the second dose of the vaccine gives the body increasing immunity and protects against changes in the epidemic, noting that the second dose is taken after 42 days and the first dose is not not lose its effect if the period increases.
