Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has said it wants to join the Oneworld airline alliance.
“Reuters” quoted a representative of the company as saying it wanted to join the alliance, which includes 14 airlines, including “Qantas” (Australian Airlines), “American Airlines”, “British Airways” and “Cathy” Pacific “.
The company added that “Oman Air” has contacted “Qatar Airways” for advice on preparing a solid presentation of the company’s business and its strategy for a successful bid.
Qatar Airways, whose CEO Akbar al-Baker currently chairs the alliance, has direct and indirect stakes in three member airlines of the oneworld alliance.
