According to sources, Nissan's Renault partner reportedly informed the French prosecutor's office of the discovery of suspicious payments to a Renault and Nissan business partner in Oman, while Ghosn was the general manager of the French manufacturer.
Nissan said its regional branch had made attractive payments for more than $ 30 million in applications to Oman's Suhail Bahwan Motor.
The sources added that the evidence sent to the French prosecutor 's office last weekend proved that most of the money had finally been transferred to a Lebanese company controlled by people close to Ghosn.
Ghosn was arrested in Tokyo last November and faces charges of financial corruption and dishonesty over allegations that he has not disclosed about $ 82 million in wages and converted personal financial losses into Nissan accounts during the financial crisis.
