One of the six survivors of the plane crash, which killed most members of the Brazilian football team Chabecwense in 2016, died of a heart attack.

Brazilian sports journalist and commentator Rafael Hensel, 45, played football with his friends last Tuesday. He was taken to the hospital, but died there.

The Brazilian club Shapequence said that he considered Hensel as "the icon of club rebuilding".

The plane carrying 77 passengers, including 19 members of the Brazilian football team, crashed in Colombia after the fuel outage.

The eminent journalist resumed his work at the Chapico radio station in the south of the country after recovering from the accident of 28 November 2016.

"Throughout his brilliant career, Raphael has told the story of Shabekwinci," said the Brazilian club in a statement in Portuguese about Heinzl's death on his official website.

"The green and white pages of the Foundation will always keep in mind that it was an example of a crisis and all that it did," says the communicated.

Hensle was to cover Shabekwensi's match against Krisyuma in the Brazilian Cup, which the Brazilian Football Federation (SAB) called for a postponement.

Henzel is one of only six people who survived the crash of 2016

The plane was flying from Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia to Medellín in Colombia, with members of the Brazilian team in the final of the Copa Suda Americana in 2016.

Hensl told the BBC, just weeks after the incident, that passengers had not received any warning before the incident.

"When we were 10 or 15 minutes from the landing, the engines stopped working to extract the fuel from the plane and I put the seatbelt in, waiting to the engines come back in a few minutes, but that did not happen. "

The Brazilian journalist, injured in the throat by seven ribs as a result of his accident, said that he was the last passenger of the six survivors of the rescue device.

"It was a very special moment," said the reporter, who wrote a book about the plane crash in 2017: "I dreamed of returning to my city and feeling its land under my feet.

The other survivors of the crash were Shabikwinci and other passengers, players Alan Rochelle, Helio Zimpernito and Jackson Folman, as well as members of the Ekmzina Suarez team and Irwin Tomere.
