Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted at his intention to remarry, saying: "As a respected person, I have to do it at some point."

Putin revealed Thursday that he could remarry without revealing the bride's name, according to NDTV.

Putin's remarks came in response to the journalist's question at his annual press conference, which focused on international relations and the economic situation.

Putin married Ludmila Potina from 1983 to their divorce in 2013. The marriage gave birth to two daughters, Katrina and Maria.

Rumors spread after Putin's divorce that he reportedly spoke of a relationship with Olympic gymnast Alena Kabayeva, but the Russian president refused to confirm it.

Reuters reported in 2016 that a businessman with links to Putin had transferred property to Alina's sister and grandmother.

Kabayeva was born on May 12, 1983 in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan. She belongs to a sports family where her father was a football player.
