The study was conducted by researchers from the Center for Experimental and Clinical Research and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Berlin in Germany, and published in the latest issue of the journal "Circulation" scientific.
Fiber-rich fruits such as carrots, potatoes, spinach, broccoli, squash, lettuce, eggplant and cabbage, fruits such as bananas, apples, strawberries, plums and oranges, cereals and legumes such as wheat, peas, lentils, beans, beans and chickpeas.
High fiber foods contain cellulose and fiber, from which beneficial intestinal bacteria produce useful molecules, such as propionic acids, that help reduce the effects of blood pressure on the body.
Bacteria
The intestinal beneficial bacteria are found in the human abdomen a few months after birth and accompany it throughout one's life, playing a key role in the digestion of food content and in maintaining of the biological balance between the different bacterial groups that are deposited in the intestine.
The researchers found that beneficial intestinal bacteria play an important role in the elimination of food waste, help absorb certain minerals and vitamins and produce a simulated substance in the work of antibiotics, as well as its goal of fighting bacteria harmful and diseases that attack the body.
To achieve the results of the study, the team monitored two groups of mice with high blood pressure and fed the first high-fiber foods, while the second group was fed on foods that did not contain fiber.
The researchers found that the group of people consuming high fiber foods had levels of propionic acid in their intestines and had lower rates of heart damage and lower inflation, which made them worse. less susceptible to cardiac arrhythmias and arteriosclerosis than the other groups.
Cardiac functions
Professor Dominique Mueller, head of the research team, said that propionate-based acids were treating a range of damage to cardiovascular function caused by hypertension.
He added that high-fiber foods could be a promising treatment option, especially for patients with very low levels of propionic fatty acids.
Previous studies have shown that a high fiber diet reduces the risk of osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, maintains colon health and helps to prevent a decrease in memory and brain functions.

"Girls who eat high-fiber foods in adolescence and in young people are less likely to have breast cancer in the future," she said.
According to studies, women who consume fiber-rich foods during pregnancy are less likely to suffer from asthma and bronchitis.
