Models may not have the right to eat a lot of chocolates, but they wear them in a display of 13 dresses made entirely of this delicious candy in Belgium.
The salon is part of the annual exhibition of the Salon de Chocolat, which includes workshops and lectures on Belgian chocolate, which Belgians boast of being the best in the world.
Belgian chocolatier Frederic Blondell collaborated with a Peruvian designer to make a dress inspired by the Egyptian queen Cleopatra's chocolate vinaigrette.
Some designers spent weeks sewing thousands of chocolates on dresses, while others were entirely made of chocolate, including a dress designed by the duo Jean-Christophe Aubier and Giovanni Piaciolo, chocolatier and fashion designer.
"Everything is covered with chocolate and cocoa powder," said Opier. "It contains more than 5 kilograms of chocolate and about 3 kilograms of cocoa powder."
He added that the large amount of cocoa powder made the chocolate dry, thus reducing the likelihood of melting.
