Qatar and France signed Thursday a security agreement for the World Cup organized by the Gulf State in 2022.
The agreement was signed by Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah Bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and his French counterpart Eduard Philippe, who is in Doha.
"It aims to establish a strategic partnership to prepare the 2022 Cup and manage the security of the most important sporting event," the statement said.
Philip visited the Qatar National Museum, designed by French engineer Jean Nouvel, in the presence of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Doha has signed an agreement with London on air protection at the next World Cup. British and Qatari pilots will participate in Typhoon fighter jets to preserve the Gulf State atmosphere at the world's largest sporting event.
