Russian astronauts Igor Kononike and Sergey Prokopiev on Sunday completed a mission outside the International Space Station (ISS) to test a hole in a Soyuz vehicle attached to them in August.
The Russian space agency Roskosmos said the astronauts worked for seven hours and forty-five minutes to break the protective layer in the vehicle with knives and a scraper to take a sample in the perimeter of the small hole, but the danger was two millimeters wide.
The hole was discovered on August 30 on a Soyuz vehicle attached to the International Space Station and the hole was sealed with three layers of insulation material. The hole caused a slight pressure drop at the station.
