Prince Harry and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, signed a major dilemma after more than 1,250 people signed a petition demanding that they be stripped of the title "Duke and Duchess".
The British daily Daily Mail announced Tuesday that a Brighton, Sussex, city council would discuss a petition calling in July for more than 1,700 people to remove Harry and Meghan's title of Duke and the Duchess of Sachs.
Since then, the petition has been signed by more than 1,250 people, prompting the council to agree to discuss it and commit to debate any petition receiving more than 1,250 signatures.
"We call the Bretton Council not to refer to these people with these titles, which we consider unjust and undemocratic at all," reads part of the text.
The purpose of the petition is not to use all royal titles in the Council's documents and procedures. It is also added in the petition: "These titles are a symbol of the removal of the public by the rich."
