Research indicates that the “citral” found in citronella has potent anti-cancer abilities against certain cancer cell lines.
In fact, many components of lemongrass are believed to help fight cancer.
This happens either by directly causing cell death or by boosting your immune system so that your body is better able to fight cancer on its own.
To strengthen the bond, lemon tea is sometimes used as an adjunct during chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Maintaining a healthy weight is important because obesity is a risk factor for heart disease and cancer.
The NHS advises that “the best way to treat obesity is to eat a healthy, low-calorie diet and exercise regularly.”
