Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Qatar won the Asian Cup for the first time in its history, defeating its Japanese counterpart by 3 goals against a goal in the 2019 finals in the UAE.

On the field of Madinat Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, Qatar scored the goal "to return" by Al Moez Ali. Abdul Aziz Hatem added the second goal in the 26th minute to end the first period with two straight points for Qatar.
