Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, the Qatari foreign minister, said that what the Qatari channel “Al-Jazeera” provided during the reconciliation negotiations with the Arab Quartet countries was not discussed.

The Qatari minister explained, in statements to Al-Jazeera: “The issue of Al-Jazeera has not been raised, and it is an institution of which we are proud, its media and its presence in Qatar.”

He added: “We guarantee freedom of expression and the issue of Al-Jazeera must be dealt with in a positive and constructive manner.”

He continued: “We are not about to have state-to-state conditions … The steps are the return to normal relations before the crisis by all parties.”

The Qatari foreign minister said that reconciliation cannot be called a success for Qatar, Saudi Arabia or any other country, but rather a success for all.
