DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Qatar beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 to take the lead in Group F and set a date for Iraq in the round of 16 while Saudi Arabia will face Japan in the same round.

On the ground of the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar received a penalty lost in the 42nd minute. Hasan Al-Heidos lost.

Qatar was quick to make up for that penalty with a goal scored by Muiz Ali in the 45th minute to end the first period with a no-fault goal for Qatar.

In the second half, the Qatari team strengthened their lead with a second goal in the 79th minute by Al-Moez Ali, who strengthened his goal position for the tournament with seven goals.

With this victory, the Qatari team will be part of Group E with 9 points, making it the third team to score the goal of the full group stage after Japan and South Korea.

Qatar will play in the next round with Iraq, while Saudi Arabia, who finished second in the group, will face Japan in the same role.
