A team of researchers from Qatar has announced the discovery of four new stars in the solar system: Qatar 7B, Qatar 8B, Qatar 9B, Qatar 10B.
Khalid Al-Subaie, Qatar's astronomer at Hamad bin Khalifa University, said the discovery of the new star planets had brought the total to 10 planets in less than 10 years since the launch of Qatar's Global Planetary Discovery in 2010.
He added that these planets were officially recognized by various global astronomical forums, including the International Astronomical Union.
He explained that all these planets are characterized by the close resemblance between them and Jupiter (the largest planets of the solar system) in size, whereas they differ by the surface temperature of surfaces, the temperature of a few thousand of degrees Celsius, because of the proximity of the surrounding stars.
Al-Subaie said the planets had been discovered by the Qatar Meteorological Network, the five-hour telescope that monitors the sky 24 hours a day. It is distributed on three continents, the first in New Mexico in North America. second in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. Located in Urumqi, northwestern China.

He pointed out that Qatar's observation network is the only one in the northern hemisphere to have this number of telescopes dedicated to this type of meteorology.
Al-Subaie expressed the hope that these discoveries will inspire Arab youth and attract more knowledge and work in various fields of scientific research.
