Qualcomm has announced its latest 5G supporting processors, “Snapdragon 870,” which is an updated version of last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865 processor.
The new processor comes with faster performance speed than its predecessor and is based on 7nm manufacturing technology; It is seen as an additional option in the fifth-generation processor market, similar to the company’s latest high-end Snapdragon 888 processors built with 5nm manufacturing technology; The fact that the latter supports a limited class of major Android phones.
In terms of compatible graphics, the Snapdragon 870 supports the Adreno 650 and X55 5G modems used in version 865; With a slight upgrade to the frequency of 3.2 GHz.
Qualcomm explained that the first phones with the new processor will be launched in the first quarter of this year 2021 by OnePlus, Motorola, Huawei and Xiaomi.
