Qualcomm Unveils Fifth Generation 10 Gbps Modem - X65

Today, Qualcomm unveiled a new 5G modem called X65 which has the capacity to transfer data at a speed of 10 GB.

The new Qualcomm modem is the first of its kind with this breakneck speed, surpassing the previous X60 modem from the same company, as the data transfer speed with it was 7.5 gigabytes per second.

The company said the new modem would reach users in 2021 as it provided special copies to some corporate customers before launching it for end users.

The X65 modem will offer greater power efficiency and add artificial intelligence technologies that help improve upload and download speeds on devices. It will also be the first to support 3GPP version 16 and will support mmWave and sub-6 GHz technologies.

Although the company has revealed the new modem, it is not expected to hit smartphones soon this year due to the presence of previous generation Qualcomm, Samsung and others significantly integrated with processors, and will therefore continue to be used for a longer period. It is also difficult to find a 5G provider that offers 10Gbps transfer speed for smartphones.
